Mary Belle Cordell Porcelain Painting Artist

Mary Belle Cordell is a certified porcelain paintings teacher with the World Organization of China Painters. She has studied at the prestigious Penland School of crafts and the Virginia Doublas School of Porcelain Art in North Carolina and with internatinally known porcelain art teachers. She paints in many mediums but her first love is porcelain painting. She has a broad experience in teaching this fine art and is presently on the staff of the Boca Museum of Art School. She attributes her fulfilling professional life to a challenging teaching style and a passion for porcelain painting. Known primarily for floral and still life paintings. She is comfortable painting the smallest Limoge boxes or the largest murals on porcelain.

Porcelain painting classes are available on Wednesday morning at the studio
of Porcelain artist Mary Belle Cordell. On going classes on all levels are available.
Private lessons in porcelain painting may be arranged with the artist. Work at your
own pace and enjoy this fine art.

Art Classes begin at CEDAR school

I am happy to announce that I will be teaching art to middle school and high school students at the CEDAR center for home schooled children. The classes will begin on August 24, 2010. Each student will be completing many projects including china painting, drawing, canvass painting, glass painting and several more exciting projects. You must be a home schooled student and be enrolled at the CEDAR school to attend. You may view information bout the CEDAR program on their website

Beginning European Encaustic Art Painting Class

Encaustic art is an unusual and different way to create amazing original works of art. Students of all abilities and talents will soon be able to attend classes taught by Mary Belle Cordell in this age old art form. I have found that painting with wax or painting on porcelain are two almost lost arts. Each of these age old art forms take time and patience but the end result is usually something that no one else can produce.

The word encustic means To Burn In. A small iron is used on a low temperature to melt the colored wax.The melted wax may be used to create abstract or more complicated pictures.The wax is liquid when melted and solid when cool.

The classes will be held Friday afternoon at the Boca Museum The Art School in Boca Raton, Florida. Classes begin in September.

Christ Church Fort Lauderdale porcelain Art display and discussion

Mary Belle Cordell will be the guest speaker at Christ Church ,Fort Lauderdale. She will be speaking about her hand painted porcelain and will be exhibiting her art work at that time. Mary Belle will also be speaking about the book "Happy Birthday Mr. Lincoln." Her artwork and a history of porcelain dishes in the White House is published in this book. The Freedoms Foundation award for Americanism was recently given to this book that was written to celebrate Lincoln's 200th birthday.
